Museum prepares ironclads for Mobile Bay27Jul2009
A volunteer crew was working overtime last weekend to get the museum’s two scale operational ironclad ships ready for a special event at Fort Morgan, at the entrance to Mobile Bay, this coming weekend, Aug. 2-3. Port Columbus will present a demonstration both Saturday and Sunday of the struggle between the USS Manhattan, a large Monitor class ship, and the CSS Tennessee, a classic sloped sided ironclad.
